Trip Report - February 2018
God granted me the opportunity to live life with 60 children at Upendo Children’s Village for 2 months. And boy, am I glad He did.
As soon as I got there, the kids welcomed me with the most infectious smiles I’ve ever come across and the most beautiful voices. Right from that very moment, I knew I had met another part of my family that I didn’t know I had.
And that’s just what Upendo Children’s Village is. A big family of children trying to figure life out together with the help of 8 beautiful Momma’s and an American Gogo who can’t help but come back to her grandchildren every few months.
These children are simply a gift from God.
They are His chosen children.
They perform at church every Sunday morning singing worship to their God.
They welcome new brothers and sisters with open arms.
They aspire to be pastors and lawyers.
And they are the ones that are going to BE the change in this world
Upendo Children’s Village was God-inspired and it is God honoring.
I am so blessed to have been given the opportunity to meet these beautiful children and be welcomed into their loving family.
I just got back home but I’m already counting down the days until I walk through that bright red gate and am welcomed by the faces of 60 beautiful brothers and sisters.
Just know that God is present within these walls and He is working through each and every one of these children’s lives.
